Early voting in Florida can start as early as October 19th or as late as October 24th depending on your county.

Voting by Mail

Any registered voter in Florida can request a vote-by-mail (also called absentee) ballot. Vote-by-mail ballots are sent out between September 24th and October 1st, 2020. The last day to request a vote-by-mail ballot is October 24th.

What do I need to know to vote by mail?

  • Make sure you read the instructions carefully.
  • Make sure you sign the return envelope. Your ballot will not be counted if you do not sign the return envelope.
  • Check to see if your return envelope requires postage. Some counties in Florida prepay postage for Vote-By-Mail ballots, others do not. 
  • You can also drop ballots off at your county supervisor of elections office. Find a drop off location close to you.
  • Vote-by-mail ballots must be received by the county supervisor of election’s office no later than 7:00pm on November 3, 2020 to be counted.

Early Voting

In Florida, early voting must be offered in every county for a minimum of 8 days, from October 24th – October 31st, 2020, but counties can add additional days of early voting beginning on October 19th. Find your local county supervisor of elections website for early vote times and locations.

What do I need to know to vote early?

  • You can vote at any early vote location in your county. 
  • You must bring a picture a valid picture ID and signature identification. For most people this will be your Florida driver’s license or Florida identification card. Other common acceptable IDs include: credit/debit card, military ID, student ID, or United States passport.

Election Day Voting

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020. Polls will be open from 7:00AM – 7:00PM.

What do I need to know to vote on election day?

  • You must vote at the polling location (precinct) where you are registered to vote. Click here to find your voting location.
  • If you are in line to vote by 7:00pm, you have the right to vote even if polls are closed.

Language Assistance for Voting

By law, Florida provides language assistance and translation of election-related materials in Spanish.
